Share your card with a tap

How to tap your NFC card against someone's phone so your digital business card opens for them.

On this page

Sharing with your NFC card takes a second. The other person’s phone opens your digital card, and they can save you as a contact.

Steps

  1. Ask the other person to unlock their phone, or at least turn the screen on.
  2. Hold your NFC card flat against the back of their phone:
    • iPhone: near the top edge.
    • Android: usually in the middle.
  3. Keep it there for a second or two until a notification or pop-up appears.
  4. They tap the notification. Your card opens in their browser.
  5. They tap Save contact to add you to their contacts.

On many Android phones your card opens straight away, without a notification.

If nothing happens

  • Move the card slowly around the back of the phone. The reader is small, and its position varies between models.
  • Take the phone out of a thick or metal cover, or try without one.
  • Close the Camera or Wallet app on an iPhone; NFC doesn’t read while they’re open.
  • Check NFC is on for Android phones. See Turn on NFC on an iPhone or Android phone.
  • Use your QR code instead. Some phones can’t read NFC at all. See Show your QR code.

Your card is always up to date

Your NFC card opens your live digital card. When you change your details in CloudCard, the next person who taps your card sees the update. There’s nothing to reprogram.

If your card opens the wrong page or an error, see My QR code or NFC card opens the wrong page.
