Delete your account

Permanently delete your CloudCard account and cards, what's kept, and what happens to your organisation.

On this page

You can delete your own CloudCard account at any time. Your account closes straight away, and you have 14 days to change your mind before your personal data is permanently removed.

If you only want to stop paying, you don’t need to delete your account. See Cancel your subscription.

What’s deleted and what’s kept

Deleted:

  • Your profile: name, email address, phone number and sign-in details.
  • Your digital business cards, and their views and taps.
  • Your sign-in on every browser and device, straight away.
  • If you’re the only member of your organisation (for example, you signed up yourself): the organisation too, with its cards, leads, branding and connected apps.

Kept:

  • If your organisation has other members, it carries on. Leads you captured for it are its business records and stay with it.
  • Invoices and payment records, for 5 years, as South African tax law requires.
  • An anonymised record that the account existed, for audit.

Before you start

  • If you’re the last admin of an organisation that has other members, make someone else an admin first. Otherwise CloudCard won’t let you continue. See Make someone an admin.
  • If your company adds people from Microsoft Entra ID, you can still delete your account, but your admin may add you again.
  • If your plan is managed by a CloudCard partner, you can’t delete the account yourself. Email support instead.

Steps

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner of the dashboard, then Delete account. You can also use the Delete your account link at the bottom of the sign-in page.
  2. Read the summary on Delete your CloudCard account, then click Email me a code. If you’re not signed in, enter Your CloudCard email address first.
  3. On Check your email, enter the 6-digit code from the email titled ”… is your CloudCard account deletion code” and click Continue. The code expires in 15 minutes. Click Send a new code if you need another.
  4. On Here’s what happens, check what will happen to each of your organisations. Each one is marked Deleted, Stays or Blocked.
  5. Type DELETE in capitals in Type DELETE to confirm.
  6. Click Delete my account.

You’ll see Your account has been deleted, and you’ll get a confirmation email. You’re signed out everywhere and your cards no longer open.

Changed your mind on step 4? Click Keep my account.

Messages you might see

  • “Type DELETE, in capitals, to confirm.” Check the word is exactly DELETE.
  • “That code is not valid any more. Check it, or send a new one.” Request a new code.
  • “Too many attempts. Wait 15 minutes and try again.”
  • “For your security, that step timed out. Start again.” Go back to the first page and request a new code.

Removing someone else

Admins remove other people from Team Members, not from this page. See Deactivate, reactivate or delete a user.
