Upgrade your plan

Move from Free to Pro or Premium, or from Pro to Premium, and see what you're charged and when.

You can upgrade your organisation’s plan at any time from the Subscription page. What happens next depends on the plan you’re on now.

Before you start

  • You need to be an admin of the organisation.
  • Check what each plan includes in Compare plans.

Open the plan options

  1. In the left menu, click Subscription.
  2. On the Current Plan card, click the pencil icon. The Manage Subscription window opens.
  3. Click Change Plan or Billing.
  4. Click the tab for the plan you want. You’ll see what switching to that plan adds.

From Free to Pro or Premium

  1. On the Pro or Premium tab, click Upgrade to Pro or Upgrade to Premium.
  2. On the checkout page, fill in your billing details and choose the number of cards.
  3. Click Proceed to Payment and pay in the secure PayFast window.

Your new plan starts once PayFast confirms the payment. You stay on Free until then, so nothing changes if you close the payment window.

From Pro to Premium

  1. On the Premium tab, review what you’ll gain.
  2. Choose how to upgrade:
    • On monthly billing, you can pick Upgrade now (Premium starts today with a pro-rata charge) or Switch to Annual (you move to Premium Annual at your next renewal and nothing is charged today).
    • On annual billing, click Upgrade to Premium.
  3. Confirm. For an immediate upgrade, you’ll see “Payment submitted. Your plan upgrade is pending PayFast confirmation and will apply as soon as payment is confirmed.”

An immediate upgrade charges your linked card for the price difference on the days left in your current cycle. Your billing cycle and number of cards stay the same.

If you pay by EFT

Upgrades can’t be charged automatically on EFT billing. When you click the upgrade button, CloudCard sends your request to the support team and you’ll see “Your request to upgrade to Premium has been submitted. A member of the CloudCard team will be in touch.”

If the upgrade doesn’t go through

  • “Plan changes for the upcoming PayFast cycle are locked within the final 2 days before renewal.” Try again after your renewal date.
  • “Link a PayFast card before requesting a plan upgrade.” Set up your card first. See Payment methods.
  • “Payment failed and your plan was not upgraded.” Your card was declined. Check the card with your bank or update it, then try again.
