My two-factor code isn't working
Why your emailed two-factor code is rejected or doesn't arrive, and how to get a working one.
On this page
CloudCard’s two-factor authentication sends a 6-digit code to your email address each time you sign in. There’s no authenticator app or backup codes. Each code expires after 10 minutes.
“The two factor code you have entered does not match”
The code you typed isn’t the latest valid code.
- Open the newest email with the subject “CloudCard Two Factor Code”. Every time you sign in again or click Resend code, a new code is sent and the older ones stop working.
- Type the 6 digits again, or paste the whole code into the first box.
- Click Verify.
The code doesn’t arrive
- Wait a minute, then check your spam or junk folder.
- On the Two Factor Authentication page, click Resend code. You’ll see “The two factor code has been sent again”.
- Make sure you’re checking the inbox for the email address you sign in with.
If your company filters incoming email, ask your IT team to allow emails from CloudCard.
You’re sent back to the sign-in page
If more than 10 minutes pass before you enter the code, it expires. CloudCard signs you out and takes you back to the first sign-in step, without showing a message. Sign in again and use the new code within 10 minutes.
Still not working?
- Ask your admin. An admin can turn two-factor authentication off for your account so you can sign in, then turn it back on. See Turn on two-factor authentication for a user.
- If you’re the only admin, contact support.
