Every deal sits in one stage. The stages are the columns on the Deals board. Three are open, two are closed, and one is for deals you’ve put aside for later.
| Stage | Meaning | Type |
|---|---|---|
| New | Created, nothing sent yet | Open |
| Meeting set | In conversation | Open |
| Quoted | A number is with them | Open |
| Won | Closed and signed | Closed |
| Lost | Closed, no sale | Closed |
| Future opportunity | Not now — revisit later | Parked |
Won, Lost and Future opportunity are alternative outcomes, not further steps after Quoted.
How stages affect your totals
- Open pipeline adds up deals in New, Meeting set and Quoted.
- Won adds up deals in Won.
- Parked adds up Future opportunity deals.
- Lost deals aren’t added to any total.
The Won, Lost and Future opportunity columns show the 20 most recent deals. If there are more, the column says how many more are counted in its total.
Close dates
- For open deals, Expected close is when you expect to decide. If that date passes, the board marks the deal with a warning icon.
- For Future opportunity deals, the date is when to revisit it.
- When you move a deal to Won or Lost, CloudCard records the date it closed. If you move it back to an open stage, that date is cleared.
Change a deal’s stage
- On the board, drag the card to another column, or click the three-dot button on the card and choose a stage.
- On the lead’s Deals tab, click Edit, choose a new Stage and click Save deal.
Deal stage or lead status?
A deal’s stage tracks progress on one sale. The lead’s status (Open, Qualified or Disqualified) says whether the person is worth working at all. A lead can lose one deal and stay Qualified for the next. See Lead score, status and tags.
